Life Energy

Our body is the meeting place of three cosmic forces of Matter. Energy. Consciousness.

Matter is condensed energy and forms the body that anchors us to the world. It gives us a

location. It makes us tangible and touchable.  Energy is the second force. Energy acts. Energy changes. Energy transforms. Nothing happens anywhere without it. Consciousness is the third. Consciousness knows. It is the light by which we see what is moving within us and around us. Without it, the other two proceed in the dark.

Energy is creative by nature. It cannot stop making patterns: galaxies, weather, forests, faces.

The same creativity works inside us. Energy flows through the body, sustaining it. When the

flow ends, the body dies. That is the whole arrangement. Life is energy in motion through form. When energy meets consciousness, something further becomes possible. Not only motion, but direction. Not only change, but growth. Evolution begins the moment energy becomes aware of itself.

But why is transformation in us so difficult? Because it doesn’t flow like a single river. It arrives fragmented. Trauma scatters it. Every wound we could not digest took a portion of our life force and set it aside to stand guard. That portion is still working. It is simply working on something that ended long ago. Conformity scatters it further. We learn early which parts of ourselves are acceptable and which must be hidden. Then we spend decades maintaining the arrangement. The good son. The competent professional. The one who never needs anything. Each role is a small industry, and each runs on the same fuel that was meant to run our lives.

The mind completes the drain. Thoughts move through us without pause, most of them

repetitive. The body registers each one. It tightens, braces, prepares. We wake tired because

we were never at rest. So, the energy is there. It has been divided among too many claimants. The work, then, is not to acquire energy. It is to gather it. A river has force because it is gathered. Spread the same water across a marsh, and it does nothing. It sits, it stagnates, it breeds. The difference is not quantity. The difference is coherence.

How is life energy gathered in a human being? Through somatic awareness. Attention brought into the body, patiently, without agenda. Most of us live a few inches in front of ourselves, managing an image. Awareness returns us to the actual place where life is happening, through somatic practice. The nervous system can be retrained. Practices that tonify the parasympathetic branch shift us out of chronic emergency. The body stops spending and begins to store. This is not relaxation as indulgence. It is basic economics of the organism.

Through understanding our somatic personality. Each of us has a characteristic way that energy organizes itself, a signature pattern of holding and releasing, moving and freezing. Most people fight this pattern for a lifetime. The intelligent path is to know it and align with it. Energy cooperates with those who understand it.

When this gathering happens, the old grooves begin to loosen. Patterns set in the body and

encoded in the brain lose their grip. Trauma completes its unfinished business and releases.

What remains is not a technique or an achievement. It is peace. It is well-being. It is love, which was never absent, only outspent. Destiny is not written somewhere else. Destiny is what gathered life energy does.
