Soma Vision
Soma, through its body- and science-based teachings, aims to awaken somatic wisdom, paving the way for personal and global health and transformation.
Soma’s universal path transcends religion, culture, race, color, and nationality, guiding individuals to become compassionate change-makers and builders of a better world.
Truth is a primal drive to survive, flourish, and reach our highest potential. We share this truth with all living beings. It is encoded in our biology, present in every cell, carried with every breath. That truth is life itself in its raw and pure form, and its countless expressions.
This universal truth remains constant, but the path to it changes with time. We need a new path to this truth because we live in a radically different world. Over the past 150 years, a new era has dawned, an age of materialism, science, and individualism. These forces shattered old frontiers. They cured diseases, split the atom, launched satellites, and created artificial intelligence. They gave us comfort and control. But in conquering the outer world, we have lost touch with the inner one. We stand amidst abundance yet starve for meaning. We are hyper-connected, yet lonelier than ever. We swim in information, yet thirst for wisdom. Our world is undergoing economic, political, technological, and social upheaval, and the Earth —the very body that holds all bodies is in peril.
The answer is not a retreat into the past. Nor is it to abandon what we have built.
We need a new synthesis that integrates the achievements of science, the autonomy of the individual, and the abundance of the material world, reconnecting us to the intelligence of life. That is Soma Path's mission. Soma in Greek means body, and in Sanskrit it stands for life’s essence. In Soma, the body is the gateway to complete life.

Created by Jivasu and assisted by Mira, Soma begins with a radical recognition: our body is not a biological machine but a dynamic intelligence in which the three elements of life — matter, energy, and consciousness — converge and constantly reshape one another. Through scientific understanding and somatic practices, we can harness the power of these primal forces to awaken the body’s innate wisdom, paving the way for complete health and transformation, personal and planetary.
Soma draws from neuroscience, evolutionary biology, physics, integrative medicine, and somatic practices into a single living fabric, threads not of separate disciplines, but of life itself, flowing through the body and the universe. At its core, Soma is an invitation to liberate oneself from trauma, fear, and pain, and to live with peace, passion, and purpose. An individual becomes a compassionate change-maker, an architect, and a builder of a better world.

Meet our Founder
Dr. Jivasu - Founder
Jivasu is a physician, and seer of the body. He is the founder of Soma, a body and science-based teaching for complete health and transformation.
According to Jivasu, the body, of which the brain is an organ, is humanity's common ground. Awakening the body's wisdom can lead to a somatic revolution, liberating the human mind from fear, guilt, and trauma and helping to live in love, peace, and harmony with ourselves and the nature around us.
With his wife, Karen, a physician, he lived at the Sivananda Ashram in Rishikesh and then served in the remote villages of the Indian Himalayas for eleven years. Later, he taught a variety of yoga and meditation teacher training, acupuncture, and mind-body medicine in Canada, India, and worldwide.
Now, he is teaching Soma through in-person and online courses and workshops.
He is the author of many books and manuals, including Soma: Return to the body and Body Mysticism.
Pillars of Soma Path

Matthew Nash
Matthew Nash is a yoga teacher, creator, and community-builder whose work bridges somatic science, traditional practice, and embodied transformation. A long-time student of Dr. Jivasu, Matthew has spent years immersed in Soma’s neurobiological approach to awakening the body’s intelligence. His path has woven together wellness, creativity, and service — from hands-on facility operations to content creation, teaching, and leading community education — all forming the foundation for his role in shaping the emerging global movement of Soma Path.
In 2023, Matthew co-founded So’ham Studio in Hamilton, where he serves as teacher, operator, and creative director. There, he developed programs, led workshops, built the studio’s digital ecosystem, and cultivated a community grounded in both traditional and somatic yoga principles. His work ranged from curriculum design and teaching yoga and meditation to managing website systems, SEO, automated marketing, studio operations, and multimedia production for education and outreach. Through this, Matthew helped transform So’ham into a center where ancient teachings and modern neuroscience meet in an accessible, practical way.
In 2025, Matthew expanded this mission by co-founding the Global Initiative for Somatic Transformation (GIST) alongside Dr. Jivasu — a nonprofit dedicated to bringing Soma’s science-based teachings to a worldwide audience through programs, partnerships, and global community building. His background in entrepreneurship, creative production, and technical problem-solving, combined with a deep commitment to somatic awakening, informs his work as a leader within this growing movement. Today, Matthew continues to teach, design programs, and support the global evolution of Soma Path, guided by the belief that returning to the body is the gateway to transforming human life at scale.

Camille Peters
Camille Peters is a Soma Meditative Yoga Facilitator whose journey toward self-discovery and personal growth took a transformative turn when she met Jivasu, founder of Soma Teachings. At the time, Camille was the owner and CEO of a successful software development company. Despite her achievements, she felt the need for a healthier, more balanced life experience. This search led her to Soma, a way of living in alignment with one’s true self.
For over 12 years, Camille has studied extensively under Jivasu’s guidance, completing teacher training programs in Kundalini Yoga, Nada Yoga, and other meditative practices. Most notably, she completed the Soma Teacher Training Program, a pioneering approach developed by Jivasu that integrates body awareness (interoception) and trauma reframing to support balance, healing, and a deeper sense of well-being through self-realization.
Blending her professional background with her lifelong passions, Camille offers a gentle yet profound space for others to explore their own inner landscapes. Through Soma Meditative Yoga, she guides individuals toward greater awareness, wholeness, and connection with their authentic nature.
